With the money that ship will be turning over, you can buy another “multipurpose” ship immediately after your first load of ore in the Python. Id personally build it as a dedicated miner. Just put the FSD range engineering on it and maybe the Power Distributor if you feel you need it, then save your materials for the Conda when you upgrade. I personally wouldn’t worry about fully engineering the Python though, because it will be a stepping stone. I’d personally go for the Python first, because it won’t take you long to mine up the 400mil credits you’re gonna want to set up your Anaconda once you have a Python that’s turning over 150mil per trip to market. The Python can mine 200 tons of ore per load, while the Anaconda can do about 325 tons. It's a wonderful ship.įitting the Anaconda is a lot more expensive then fitting the Python, so you’re really talking about a 100mil credit ship vs a 300+mil credit ship. I hope this helps you with your new Python. I look forward to get back into my Python for some non-exploration gameplay. I am now about 10KLY from Colonia returning from a trip to Sag A*. I have used the ship in all three roles with the changes I described and I am really happy with it. I like my ships to be fast and nimble (as much as possible), so I like full-sized, A-rated, engineered thrusters. I keep the Core Internals as is for each role.

With this approach, I can use one ship for combat, mining, and trading with quick refits between the roles. When I'm trading, I generally leave the hardpoints in place so I can take out a lowly pirate for their mats or run (with the engineered thrusters) if they are higher level or I don't feel like combat.
ELITE DANGEROUS ANACONDA VS PYTHON GENERATOR
When I want to trade, I switch out the Shield Generator for a 4A SG (or not depending on my mood - do I feel like running or fighting) and load up on cargo racks. When I want to do combat, I switch out the Cargo Racks and Mining equipment for Shield Cell Banks, HRPs and two MRPs and the Mining hardpoints for two more beams. The link I provided earlier is for the Python in its core mining role. My plan was to equip the ship with excellent Core Internals and then swap out Optional Internals, Hardpoints & Utility Mounts depending on the role I wanted to use the ship in.

Because I did not have access to Etienne, I had to make some tradeoffs in the build, but I am still happy with the ship. That I forgot to unlock Etienne Dorn by upgrading Liz Ryder enough - Doh!īecause of this, I decided to buy a Python in Colonia and outfit it for serving the three roles of combat, mining & trading in Colonia. That I wanted/needed a multi-role ship to do combat, mining & trading in Colonia. That I wanted to stay longer and set up a Colonia "base" (fleet of ships). When I arrived in Colonia in my Krait Phantom, I quickly realized three things: I'd like to share the build link (core mining outfit) for the Python that I keep in Colonia. I also never sell ships, unless I buy that I turn out to very much dislike (and that hasn't happened yet and I have 11 ships, two of which are Pythons anyway). I agree with others that recommended you buy the Python.
